At 9pm on July 4th, the TWRA closes the Cumberland River to non-permitted vessels. Only a small fleet of boats are permitted to stay inside the official fireworks zone between the Woodland Street and KVB Bridges. Pontoon Saloon is one of them.

Permitted, not lucky
The fireworks zone closes by law. Only a handful of operators clear the TWRA permit each year. We've been one of them, and 2026 is no different.

Anchored between the Woodland Street and KVB Bridges. The fireworks burst directly above you. Not over a building, not over a parking lot, not from across the river.

Capacity is capped per boat by the Coast Guard. You're not crammed onto a rooftop with strangers. You're on a small private deck with room to move and your own seat at the rail.

Fireworks Begin ✦
Tied up inside the fireworks zone, between the bridges. Beers in hand. Show kicks off, choreographed to the Nashville Symphony. America's 250th, watched from the closest legal seat in the city.
Head Back
Cruise back upriver while the city is still gridlocked from downtown traffic. You'll be home before most of Broadway has even left the bars.

Back at Lock One Marina. Hop in your car (which has been parked for free this whole time) and you're out.
